Daddy Obama

Thu Jul 03, 2008 at 08:53:41 AM PDT

A quick reference to anyone who missed a CNN clip this morning about the press coverage of Obama. Jeanie Most had a 2 minute clip about the press coverage and included hidden camera footage of Barack and Michelle at their daughters soccer game. It was heartwarming and revealing to see the true relationship they have. I am not computer literate enough to import the video(maybe someone else can) but it titled "Daddy Obama" on CNN.Com Video. My wife and I found it very heartwarming indeed.

AP REPORTS SMEARS AS TRUTH

Wed Jun 18, 2008 at 11:16:51 AM PDT

Listening to my local radio stations news, I was shocked to hear the right wing smears againist Michelle Obama have now made it into the Associated Press's daily news feed to small radio and newspapers.
The report was that "the Obama campaign is trying to react quickly to reports againist Michelle Obama. She was quoted as saying that she had never been proud of America in her adult life.
She has been trying to improve her image with appearance today on "The View".

"She is reported to have made remarks about WHITEY in a speech at a church in Chicago."

I was shocked that there was no reference that this is just a claim, they reported it as if they had evidence that she truly said this in a speech, not what some right wingnuts had alledged. They say it enough times and now the AP is reporting it as TRUE.

I have called the radio station and written to AP, but I think we need to take more action. Any ideas on what we can do to combat this???? Listening to my local radio stations news, I was shocked to hear the right wing smears againist Michelle have now made it into the Associated Press's daily news feed to small radio and newspapers.

Rachel Maddow's "Dem's Have 10 days to avoid defeat!

Wed May 21, 2008 at 05:09:46 PM PDT

Just now Rachel Maddow explained her theory that the Dem's have 10 days to save this election. Unless Obama get's the Supers to come on board NOW to get the 2026 necessary today, the Rules committee will meet on May 31. If that meeting happens, then the 2026 is no longer the number. The rules committee will meet and decide how to seat the FL/MI delegates, but that decision will be appealed by Clinton to the Creditials committee. They will meet in DENVER, at the convention!!! Clinton's people know the rules and will succeed in dragging this to the convention. I don't know if this is accurate, but it definitely needs to be checked out fast///

Why are the polls so different?

Mon May 05, 2008 at 10:15:56 AM PDT

Picked this up from Marc Ambinder to explain why the national polls are so different:

Reader Cristine Barbour, a political scientist at Indiana University, notices that the USA Today/Gallup poll sampled its wares from Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents, NOT likely voters, which is the universe from which the CBS News / New York Times poll was derived.

In fact, the CBS/NYT poll also has Clinton up among its sample of Democratic identifiers, with Obama leading among likely voters. So the divergence is artificial (although still interesting).

Obviously, the much larger pool of Democratic identifiers is more of a weathervane sample, apt to support Clinton when the noise is unfavorable for Obama and vice versa. The smaller likely voter samples suggest that Obama is much more durable among those who have or will bother to show up at the polls.
